AIS Competition 1st Place

April 13, 2015

This last weekend I traveled to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to present the security policy I created with my group at the AIS National Student Chapter Conference. We competed in the 2nd round against several other universities, and we ended up taking first place. It was a great experience and we learned a lot while showing what we have learned. There will be an unknown amount of prize money that will be rewarded in the near future.

The policy we created implemented several business controls that I have been learning about in my classes while in the Information Systems program at BYU. It was a really fun experience to represent BYU and compete at an International level. I look forward to competing again in this event next year.

We also had the opportunity to explore the campus of University of Alabama. The campus in tuscaloosa is beautiful, and they did an amazing job of hosting this experience. They accommodated us really well, and showed their quality as chapter of the year for the AIS organization.
